Veteran Critical Home Repair Program
Partnering to repair homes with veterans and their families.
Using a person-centered, trauma-informed approach, we partner with veteran and surviving spouse homeowners in the Central Texas area to repair their homes in need of repairs that may be too costly or physically challenging. Our affiliate has received grant funding from TVC-FVA to assist veterans and surviving spouses with critical home repairs/modifications to eliminate barriers to a healthier, more financially stable life.
Program Requirements:
We follow the HUD Area Income Limits when qualifying for our critical home repair program and the homeowner must be current on their property taxes. Fort Hood Area Habitat for Humanity believes that every veteran deserves a safe and accessible place to call home where they can age in place.

Veteran must be the homeowner, or reside in the home with the homeowner

Household income must be within 20-80% of the HUD area median income guidelines

Must provide DD214 stating an Honorable or General Discharge level

Must live within the Fort Hood Area Habitat service area

Must be current on your property taxes
Any veteran or surviving spouse in need of critical home repair and/or modification and who lives in Bell, Coryell, Lampasas, Milam, and Falls counties is eligible to apply for assistance.
